SUMMARY:Watch: Student-Led Individualized Education Programs (IEP)
DESCRIPTION:Watch the “Student-Led Individualized Education Programs (IEP)” workshop here.\n\n\n\n\nWhen students are given the opportunity to have an active role in the development of their individualized education program\, they learn how to state their preferences and goals\, and take ownership over their future. A student-led IEP process has many benefits\, such as promoting self-advocacy\, improving student engagement\, and strengthening transition planning. This workshop will be co-presented by three people with experience with student-led IEPs: a disability advocate\, a parent of a person with a disability\, and a person who supports youth with disabilities as they transition to adulthood. \nPresenters: \n\nJayson Capobianco: Family Resources Consultant / Postsecondary Transition Consultant with the Vermont I-Team\, part of the University of Vermont’s Center on Disability and Community Inclusion\nOcean Streeter: disability advocate with Green Mountain Self-Advocates and UVM CDCI\nMichele Streeter: Northeast Regional Family Support Consultant with the Vermont I-Team

SUMMARY:Register for 7/23: Navigating Vermont’s CSHN New Geographic Information System (GIS) Resource Map
DESCRIPTION:Register for “Navigating Vermont’s CSHN New Geographic Information System (GIS) Resource Map” workshop here.\nThis workshop will be online using the Zoom meeting platform.  If you are unable to attend the live presentation\, you can still register and we’ll send you a link to the recording of the workshop which you can watch on your own time. We appreciate when you register as that data can support our grant reporting.\nChildren and Youth with Special Health Care Needs recently launched a CSHN GIS Resource Map . We understand that Vermont’s system of care can be hard to navigate. To simplify it\, we created a digital guide that helps families\, youth\, and providers to quickly find CSHN-related resources in an easy-to-understand\, accessible format. \nThis resource includes content categories such as autism\, care coordination\, designated agencies\, education\, medical\, organizations\, planning for adulthood\, and statewide resources\, organized by county. We update the map’s information regularly\, so we can keep you informed. \nIf you need accessibility resources to navigate the map\, contact us at AHS.VDHCSHN@vermont.gov. Use the suggestion form at the bottom of each web page to help us keep this resource map up to date. \nPresenter: \n\nRegina-Anne (Regie) Cooper\, MPH\, LSSCGB\, has worked for CSHN Health Systems Team for 3 years as statewide Program Administrator. Regie is a member of Vermont’s Special Education Advisory Panel (SEAP)\, attends Vermont’s Certified Public Managers program and represents Vermont in GOT Transition’s 8 state workgroup. Regie also participates in CORE (HireAbility) regional and statewide workgroups as well as serving on their event planning committee.  She is a graduate of Geisel School of Medicine with a Masters in Public Health\, and was 1998 Presidential Scholar during her senior year at Norwich University. Regie also holds a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma project management and is a Certified Facilitator. Regie is the mother of identical twins who received special education services from preschool through high school in Vermont. She has a passion for project management\, learning more about SPED and CSHN issues\, and discovering innovative ways to help Vermont’s children and youth with healthcare needs.
