About PIRC
Parent involvement. You hear a lot about it. Research shows it has a strong influence on a child’s academic achievement. But what should it look like? How do you as a parent get involved? What do you want it to mean at your school? What kind of help do you, both parent and school, need?
Vermont Family Network’s Parent Information Resource Center (PIRC), is part of a national network of PIRCs that provide support, information, and training to families, schools, and communities across the state to help children of all ages succeed in school. PIRC–Vermont can help schools and parents develop strategies for meaningful communication using proven, research-based techniques for engaging parents and supporting them in being part of their child’s learning. PIRC brings parents, educators, school administrators, and community members together to build a welcoming environment and vibrant school community.
