Sibshops

SIBSHOPS provide brothers and sisters an opportunity to:

  • Meet other brothers and sisters who “know” what it’s like to be a sibling
  • Have an opportunity to talk about, and to listen to, others’ concerns related to being a sibling of a child with special needs, in a supportive non-judgmental environment
  • Make new friends, learn new games, do crafts, share a meal, and have a lot of fun

SIBSHOPS are for: Children aged seven to fourteen, who are siblings of brothers and sisters who have special needs. Special needs includes anyone with a medical concern, such as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy or cystic fibrosis; a developmental disability, such as Down Syndrome, a low IQ, or autism; or any other chronic disability or health condition.

WHEN: The first Saturday of each month from 10am-1pm.

WHERE: HowardCenter McClure Gymnasium, 1138 Pine Street, Burlington

HOW: Participants should dress comfortably and be ready for action! $5 per session. Scholarships are available.
